Prism Sound Issues Fresh Warning To European Buyers Over Counterfeit Lyra 2 Interfaces

Counterfeit Prism Sound Lyra 2 interfaces are now appearing with increasing frequency across Europe and the UK, having previously been largely confined to Asian marketplaces such as TaoBao, Alibaba and similar online platforms. Prism Sound is now aware of an increasing number of counterfeit units being offered for sale via eBay and other European resale channels, and is urging customers to exercise extreme caution when buying used or discounted Lyra interfaces.

Prism Sound strongly urges customers to purchase only through authorised resellers, where they can buy with confidence and receive full product support. A complete list of approved dealers can be found on the Prism Sound website.

The company recognises that genuine Lyra units do occasionally appear on established second-hand marketplaces and resale platforms. However, with counterfeit units now becoming more common, Prism Sound strongly recommends that buyers contact the company directly before committing to any private, auction site or marketplace purchase.

The company is particularly warning buyers to be vigilant around units advertised as the limited run “Lyra 2 Ultimate Collection”. These versions are being used frequently by counterfeit sellers because the special-edition branding can make verification harder for unsuspecting buyers.

While some counterfeit units may look convincing externally, internal inspection and technical testing have shown serious concerns around poor construction, substandard components, unreliable operation and potentially dangerous electrical faults. In some cases, fake units have failed shortly after purchase, leaving buyers with no warranty, no support, and no recourse.

Mark Evans, Sales Director at Prism Sound, said:

“It is both worrying and deeply disappointing to see an increase of counterfeit units being offered for sale across Europe and the UK. Customers place trust in the Prism Sound name, and these fake products risk damaging that trust while leaving buyers badly out of pocket.”

“Of course, there are genuine Lyra units out there on the used market, but we would urge anyone considering a purchase to be careful, particularly with auction sites, private sales and marketplace listings. If you have any doubts at all, contact us before you buy.”

“A suspiciously cheap deal can end up costing far more. Some of these counterfeit units are shockingly poor inside and should not be trusted in any professional environment.”

Prism Sound strongly advises customers to:

  • Buy only from authorised dealers or trusted professional resellers
  • Be highly cautious of unusually cheap Lyra 2 offers
  • Treat “Ultimate Collection” listings with extra care
  • Contact Prism Sound directly first if you are unsure about any listing or seller

If in doubt, check first. A fake bargain can quickly become an expensive mistake.
